Remove Profile Picture Background (Free Transparent PfP)

Remove the background from a profile picture for free. Get a transparent PNG or put yourself on a solid colour for any platform, with nothing uploaded.

A profile picture with a busy background looks messy at thumbnail size. Cutting yourself out and dropping onto a clean colour — or keeping it transparent — instantly makes your PfP look sharper on LinkedIn, Instagram, Discord, X, or a work directory. Here's how to do it for free.

How to make a clean profile picture

• Step 1 — Open Skrubly's AI Background Remover and drop in your photo.
• Step 2 — The AI removes the background around you.
• Step 3 — Keep it transparent, or pick a solid colour that fits the platform (a soft brand colour looks great on LinkedIn).
• Step 4 — Download and set it as your profile picture.

Tips for a profile picture that pops

• Use a photo where your face is well-lit and you're looking toward the camera.
• A solid colour close to your brand (or a soft neutral) reads more professional than a busy background.
• Since most profile pictures display as a circle, keep your head centred so nothing important gets cropped.

Free and private

Because it runs in your browser, it's free with no watermark, and your photo is never uploaded — which is reassuring when it's a picture of your face going onto a public profile.
